Hello Parents!

Just a short blog today, as I’m sure you have many other important things to catch up on.
Today we started off with an assembly, and recognized special students (refer to the picture below). We worked on our UOI, and then moved onto Math after lunch. I introduced lesson 2 (Mean and Mode), and assigned P#66, 67 in their math workbook. As a reminder, students were told to double check their work, as many of them were adding incorrectly due to rushing. Also remember, when finding the “Mean,” think about our song! “Add, Divide, by the number of numbers! The number of numbers! The number of numbers!” (Ask your child about it… it’s actually very catchy! J). After math the students had music, then lunch, and then French. At the end of the day, we tried to rehearse our Christmas Concert song, and lets just say we need a lot of practice! Don’t panic though- the students are just as eager to work on it as I am. And I apologize in advance for the non-stop singing of their song once they come home! (Another catchy song!)

Just a few reminders before I go:
1.       Math workbook P# 66, 67 for homework.
2.       Please sign and return their spelling test.
3.       Read chapter 15 in Percy Jackson.
4.       Practice singing, “Santa Claus is coming to town!”
5.       The cookie dough pick up is set for Thursday, December 8th from 3:45-8pm in the cafeteria.
6.       Parent-Teacher interview times will be emailed out by Wednesday. I believe they are just making some last minute changes to ensure everyone gets the time slot they requested. Just a reminder that since the interview meetings are only 10 minutes long, it is important that you arrive on time!
7.       The grade 3 classes are organizing a food and toy drive, and are asking for non-perishable food items, as well as new toys/ books. We will be collecting them in each classroom until December 21st. This time of year can be difficult for many families, so let’s try to help out those who need it!
8.       Just a reminder for “Secret Santa,” the price limit is $10, and the students should refer to the form of their “Secret Santa” person, in order to make their shopping easier. I ask that students do not bring in their gifts until DECEMBER 21st or 22nd, as I don’t want it to get stolen or damaged. I have suggested that students wrap the present with a tag that says, “To: _____, From: Your Secret Santa,” and bring it in in a plastic bag (so students don’t see each other walking in with a specific gift, which will ruin the suspense).

I hope you all have a wonderful night!
