Hello Parents!
Sorry for the delayed blog! I
just finished Parent-Teacher interviews, and wanted to post this before I go
home! It was nice seeing most of you today, and I hope the feedback can help
your child become more successful in term 3!
Today the students started off
their morning with math. We took up the math homework, and then I introduced
lesson #5 (Using grids to find perimeter and area). As a class, we went through
examples in the textbook, and then discussed the answers to the corresponding
questions. After math, we discussed chapter 2 in our Novel Study book, and then
some students volunteered to read their journal entries. Following this, we
headed down to the auditorium for Oakwood’s Cultural Market and Talent Show
(look below for pictures).
After lunch, the students worked
on their UOI assignment, and continued creating details for their made up
country. After second break, the students introduced their countries, and then
we began our debate about which country (based on their style of government),
was better. Lots of great ideas were shared, and wonderful rebuttals were
stated. We will continue this debate when we have UOI again. After that, the
students got ready to go home.
Just a few
