Hello
Parents!
It’s Friday!
In addition to that, I’m sure you’ve heard the good news….. your children don’t
have homework this weekend!! Yay!! They definitely deserve a break…and you do
too!
Today we
started off with gym, and then had our Lesson 13 Spelling Test. We moved onto
our UOI lesson, and students continued working in their groups. After lunch we
had our Art Reach Workshop from 12pm-2pm.
Students that weren’t participating were given a booklet of Christmas themed
activity pages, which kept them preoccupied. On the note of the Art Reach
Workshop, please look through your child’s
bag to see if they have one (or two) pieces of canvas artwork. It appears that
someone might have taken another student’s artwork, and therefore it is
missing. It is a white canvas (with a wooden rod through the top), with a
painting of three trees with Christmas lights, and some houses in the
background. Since all of the students involved in the workshop created the same
picture, it will be difficult to narrow it down; however, the student missing
his artwork created a very high quality picture. With that being said, just take
a look, and see if the picture your child has matches their artistic ability.
As you can imagine, the student missing his artwork is pretty upset, so let’s
hope someone accidently ended up with two, and can return one missing one on
Monday.
Aside from
that incident this afternoon, the day went by pretty smoothly. Unfortunately,
next week will be back to it’s hectic schedule, with lots to learn and lots to
do. I hope your children have a good relaxing weekend, because it’s all
business starting on Monday!
Just a few
notes before I go:
Just a few
notes before I go:
1.
Read Chapter 14 in Percy Jackson.
2.
Please sign and return the Unit 4 math test- I
am still missing a few!
3.
Practice singing, “Santa Claus is coming to
town,” as we will begin rehearsing as a class next week!
4.
The grade
3 classes are organizing a food and toy drive, and are asking for
non-perishable food items, as well as new toys/ books. We will be collecting
them in each classroom until December 21st. This time of year can be difficult
for many families, so let’s try to help out those who need it!
5.
Just a reminder for “Secret Santa,” the price
limit is $10, and the students should refer to the form of their “Secret Santa”
person, in order to make their shopping easier. I ask that students do not
bring in their gifts until DECEMBER 21st or 22nd, as I
don’t want it to get stolen or damaged. I have suggested that students wrap the
present with a tag that says, “To: _____, From: Your Secret Santa,” and bring
it in in a plastic bag (so students don’t see each other walking in with a
specific gift, which will ruin the suspense).
I hope you
all have a wonderful (homework-less) weekend!
